
The Babylon staking protocol team has unveiled details of the BABY token airdrop for early participants. A total of 600 million tokens—6% of the total supply—will be allocated for distribution.

Rewards will go to Phase 1 stakers, Finality Providers, Pioneer Pass NFT holders, and contributors on GitHub.
No application is required—tokens will be automatically credited to registered addresses after the launch of the Babylon Genesis network.
Participants are divided into five categories:
- 30 million BABY — for all Phase 1 stakers;
- 335 million BABY — base rewards for Phase 1 staking;
- 200 million BABY — bonus for those who transfer their stakes to Phase 2;
- 30 million BABY — to Pioneer Pass holders (300 BABY per NFT);
- 5 million BABY — to GitHub contributors (based on commit count).
Users must sign the participation terms to receive the tokens.
The Babylon team clarified that this airdrop does not include other campaigns, such as wallet-holder rewards, which will be announced separately.
On the same day, the team introduced BABY’s tokenomics, revealing a total supply of 10 billion tokens.

Token distribution within the ecosystem:
- 3.5% — advisors;
- 15% — team;
- 15% — community incentives;
- 18% — Babylon development;
- 18% — research and operations;
- 30.5% — early investors.
The protocol’s total value locked (TVL) has reached $4.3 billion, reaffirming Babylon’s position as the leading BTCFi protocol, according to DeFi Llama.

In December 2024, Binance launched Bitcoin staking supported by Babylon.
