apple success story

Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil a new wall-mounted display equipped with Apple Intelligence for smart home management and video conferencing, according to Bloomberg sources.

“The company plans to announce the device in March 2025, positioning it as a ‘command center for the home,'” the report states.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, expressed confidence that this device, codenamed J490, will mark a significant step for Apple in the smart home segment. The product has reportedly been in development for over three years, receiving special attention from the company’s design and engineering teams.

Key Features of the Device

The display will feature a six-inch screen, resembling a square-shaped iPad. It includes a front-facing camera on the top panel, built-in battery, and speakers. The device will be available in silver and black.

“Apple expects most users to interact with the device through the Siri voice assistant, enhanced with Apple Intelligence for smart home control and tasks,” the report notes.

The gadget will operate on a built-in operating system and support various functions, including controlling household appliances and making FaceTime video calls. It will seamlessly integrate with smart home devices such as thermostats, lighting systems, locks, security cameras, and more.

Enhanced Security and Siri Integration

One standout feature of the J490 will be its advanced security capabilities. The device will send notifications and display video feeds from security cameras and smart doorbells. Users will also have access to apps for browsing the web, listening to music and news, managing notes, calendars, and photo albums.

“Apple aims to ‘revitalize’ Siri and Apple Intelligence with this new device,” insiders added.

Pricing and Accessories

The J490 is expected to be competitively priced between $150 and $230, aligning with similar devices from competitors. Apple is also exploring the development of its own smart home accessory line, including a security camera that could integrate with Apple Intelligence and Siri, functioning as a baby monitor.

“The company is considering creating its own lineup of smart home devices, including cameras and other accessories tightly integrated with Siri and Apple Intelligence,” the report explains.

Broader AI Initiatives

In October, Apple introduced its new artificial intelligence capabilities to the public, signaling the company’s growing focus on AI-driven technologies for everyday use.
