Investors should allocate 2-3% of their capital to Bitcoin, but no more than 10% due to the asset’s volatility, Interactive Brokers founder Thomas Peterffy said in an interview with Bloomberg.

“Everyone who doesn’t own Bitcoin should have some, but not too much,” he suggested.

Peterffy ranks 46th on the list of the world’s wealthiest individuals with a net worth of $53 billion.

The entrepreneur admitted he is “a bit afraid” of cryptocurrencies due to their price fluctuations.

“Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. The only thing it has is the same as paper dollars: nothing,” he added.

Earlier, Bridgewater Associates founder billionaire Ray Dalio called Bitcoin “hard money.”

Interactive Brokers launched cryptocurrency trading with Paxos support in September 2021.

In August 2022, the brokerage firm announced that its crypto service had moved to 24/7 operations and added new coins to its listing, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.
