Mark Longo, the owner of a squirrel named Peanut and a raccoon named Fred, has launched a token on Solana called “Justice for Peanut and Fred” (JUSTICE) to honor his pets.
“The government won’t get away with this. Justice will prevail. And not just for Fred and Peanut. We will show the world that crossing boundaries is unacceptable,” Longo declared.
He also accused the crypto community of profiting from his loss.
“The fact that people want to make money off this is nothing short of vile,” he stated.
Members of the Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) meme coin community criticized Longo, recalling his decision to sell a ~$50,000 donation made by the PNUT project.
so let me recap this:

1. you took the $50k free money the other project gave to you as a goodwill, and label them as scammers profiting from the injustice of peanut.
2. you launch your own project profiting from the same injustice of peanut the scammers did?
😂
Why did you…
“So, let me get this straight. 1. You took $50,000, which another project gave you as a gesture of support, and called them scammers profiting off Peanut’s injustice. 2. You’re launching your own project profiting off the same injustice? Who’s the scammer now?” wrote a user named BlackHo0le.
As of now, JUSTICE has a market capitalization of $63 million and 17,400 token holders. The token was launched using the Pump.fun platform.
Peanut the squirrel became a social media sensation with over 500,000 followers. However, on October 30, New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation searched Longo’s home, citing laws prohibiting the keeping of wild animals as pets. On November 1, both Peanut and Fred were euthanized.
The incident sparked widespread outrage and took on a political dimension. Supporters of Donald Trump described the situation as “government overreach,” while Elon Musk also criticized the authorities.
Reminder: In November, an unknown investor missed an opportunity to earn over $1.6 million on the PNUT token.
