The trailer features interviews with users from countries such as Turkey, Brazil, and Argentina, who have used USDT to protect against inflation. In Brazil, USDT accounted for 80-90% of all cryptocurrency transactions last year, highlighting its importance in unstable economic environments.
History of USDT
On October 6, 2014, the first USDT tokens were issued on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Omni Layer. Initially called Realcoin, the project was soon renamed to Tether. Over time, the stablecoin became available on other blockchains such as Ethereum, TRON, and TON, with the latter gaining particular popularity among users.
Today, USDT remains the largest stablecoin with a market capitalization of $120 billion.
Tether’s Mission
In a post on X, Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, emphasized that the company aims to provide financial freedom to billions of people in developing countries, many of whom lack access to banking services.
“Our focus has always been and will continue to be the last mile—the end users. We create technologies for those who have been left behind,” said Ardoino.

In September 2023, Tether played a key role in freezing $6 million stolen by crypto hackers, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to combating illegal activities in the cryptocurrency space.
