
Australian auction house Lloyds announced the sale of a portfolio of 280 domain names created back in 2010 year. In the selection – addresses with geographical targeting, institutional and technical terms: JapanBitcoin.com, AustraliaBitcoin.com, BitcoinExchanges.com, BitcoinWallets.com etc.
Among the unique names:
- BitcoinforPizza.com
- EmailBitcoin.com
- BitcoinSpotETF.com
- BitcoinSeedPhrase.com
- TokenizedBitcoins.com
- BitcoinNetzwerk.com
Domain owners are still unknown. Lloyds assumes that they could be registered by the first Bitcoin developers.
Lloyds CEO Lee Heims He noted: ‘The buyer of the auction will receive not just domains, but the right to speak the language of the digital economy of the first cryptocurrency.’
To participate in the auction, you will need to pass a preliminary check. Payment is also possible with cryptocurrency – Lloyds accepts it since 2021.
Previously, crypto-related domains went for millions of dollars:
- XBT.com — $3 million (2024)
- BTC.com — $1 million (2014)
- Eth.com — $2 million (2017)
- Crypto.com — $10-12 million (2018)
