Abstract Users Report Fund Theft via Cardex

Ethereum-based L2 platform Abstract has faced a wallet breach, with users reporting stolen funds. A company representative, 0xBeans, confirmed an ongoing investigation.

According to him, the issue stems from the Cardex blockchain game app, not the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW).

Users turned to Abstract’s official Discord channel, demanding refunds. Similar concerns were raised in Cardex’s Telegram group, where some accused the project of a rug pull.

Abstract has yet to confirm the scale of the losses but promised updates as new information emerges.

On February 12, zkLend lost ~3,666 ETH in a hack. The project’s team offered the attacker 10% of the stolen funds as a bounty in exchange for returning the rest.

Earlier, Merkle Science analysts outlined crypto scam tactics for 2024, highlighting X (formerly Twitter) as the primary attack vector.
