Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has released its own mini-game on the Telegram messenger platform called Moonbix.
“We are aware of the leak regarding our upcoming Telegram game Moonbix before the planned launch date. We are excited about the community’s reaction but are still working on improving the product to ensure a better user experience during the official launch,” the company said in a statement.
The game is already available on Telegram. Players start with 100 coins and six attempts, with attempts replenishing one at a time every 10 minutes.
The gameplay resembles popular “claw machine” arcade games. Players need to press a button at the right moment to catch yellow balls and avoid meteors. Each attempt lasts 45 seconds.
Like other Telegram games, Moonbix is distributed through a referral program. Referrals receive 1,000 coins, while the referrer gets 10% of the coins earned by their referrals, but no more than 50,000 coins.
The game includes a section with tasks such as subscribing to the Telegram channel, sharing on stories, and linking their Binance account.
“The more points [coins] you earn, the higher your chances of receiving cryptocurrency rewards,” the page states.
Although the “Terms and Conditions” page does not mention an airdrop or listing for a new token, it does reference some rewards.
“Only users from qualified regions who have linked their Binance account to Moonbix and completed KYC are eligible for any rewards,” the text reads.
The developers also clarified that their game is not associated with Telegram or any other social media platform.
It’s worth noting that the airdrop for the popular Telegram game Hamster Kombat is scheduled for September 26. Binance has also announced the listing of the memecoin HMSTR.
In May, major cryptocurrency exchanges listed the token NOT for the Web3 gaming project Notcoin.
