The American exchange Binance.US has reopened deposits and withdrawals in US dollars after nearly 18 months of restrictions, according to the company’s blog.
Users can now deposit and withdraw USD via bank transfers, purchase cryptocurrencies through the ACH system, and trade USD pairs. Full access to all services will be available in the coming days.
Binance.US halted USD operations in the summer of 2023 following a lawsuit from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which accused the exchange of failing to register its U.S. subsidiary.
Reminder: On February 10, Binance and the SEC filed a joint motion to pause legal proceedings for 60 days. This is linked to the establishment of a digital assets task force and potential regulatory changes in the crypto sector.
