“This strategic decision aims to accelerate delivery times and enhance service efficiency for our North American customers,” the company stated.
According to the announcement, the first batch of Antminer S21 Pro devices is expected to ship in December.
The move comes amidst significant shifts in U.S. policy under newly elected President Donald Trump. Trump has repeatedly emphasized his intention to raise tariffs on imports from China and BRICS nations, while advocating for the relocation of manufacturing facilities back to the U.S.
Another factor influencing Bitmain’s decision was ongoing delays in importing mining equipment to the U.S. Reports from late November 2024 revealed that hundreds of Antminer S21 and T21 ASIC miners had been stuck at customs warehouses for over a month, awaiting clearance.
MicroBT recently unveiled its latest WhatsMiner M6xS++ series of Bitcoin miners during the Bitcoin MENA 2024 conference in Abu Dhabi on November 9.
