Jan Van Eck, CEO of VanEck, has expressed his belief that Bitcoin’s price could reach $300,000. He shared this prediction in an interview with CNBC.
“Bitcoin will hit a new all-time high today [November 8], and I think it will continue to rise. Ultimately, I believe Bitcoin’s market capitalization will reach half of gold’s, which means around $300,000 per Bitcoin,” said Van Eck.
He stated that he views his forecast as “balanced” and emphasized that Bitcoin maximalists believe that Bitcoin will eventually surpass gold.
“Bitcoin is digital gold to me,” added the CEO of VanEck.
Earlier, in August, Van Eck predicted that Bitcoin could rise to $350,000 when its market capitalization reaches half of gold’s. At that time, he also revealed that he had invested “more than 30%” of his capital in Bitcoin.
VanEck experts also foresee that by 2050, Bitcoin could reach $2.9 million if it becomes a global medium of exchange and reserve currency.
It’s worth recalling that in November 2024, Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee predicted Bitcoin could reach $100,000 by the end of 2024.
