Some investors have incurred heavy losses twice after investing in the LIBRA token, which was promoted by Argentina’s president.

According to Lookonchain, three days ago, one unlucky trader spent $1.7 million to buy LIBRA, only to sell at a loss of $1.56 million.

“After Javier Milei reposted instructions on how to buy LIBRA, the user reinvested $300,000 in the asset and lost another $200,000,” analysts reported. However, they noted that “the guy made $7.32 million in profits on the TRUMP token” despite losing $617,000 on MELANIA.

Whales Make Mistakes Too

One whale also suffered heavy losses on LIBRA, losing a total of $2.78 million.

Three days ago, this investor spent 17,450 SOL ($3.25 million) on LIBRA, only to sell for 3,200 SOL ($595,000), taking a loss of 14,250 SOL ($2.65 million).

As in the previous case, Milei’s retweet prompted the whale to repurchase LIBRA, this time for 2,855 SOL ($531,000). He later sold for 2,159 SOL, locking in a $129,000 loss.

Milei’s activity has sparked controversy, accusations of fraud, allegations of involvement in a pump-and-dump scheme, and even impeachment threats.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy bought LIBRA for approximately $170,000. This token is not related to the meme coin promoted by Milei and has a different contract address.
