OpenAI plans to charge up to $20,000 per month for specialized AI agents, according to The Information, citing sources among investors.

The startup intends to launch several types of agent products for different fields, including software development and sales proposal sorting.

Pricing for various AI assistants:
• $2,000 per month — for “high-earning knowledge workers”
• $10,000 per month — for assisting software developers
• $20,000 per month — for supporting PhD-level research

The company believes that AI assistants will provide significant value and justify their price.

Exact launch dates and potential clients are still unknown. Earlier, SoftBank committed to investing $3 billion in OpenAI products in 2025.

Currently, the most expensive ChatGPT Pro subscription costs $200 per month, providing unlimited access to all OpenAI models, including enhanced voice mode and AI o1.

In 2024, OpenAI’s losses amounted to $5 billion due to high costs for training and supporting AI. In October, the startup raised $6.6 billion with a valuation of $157 billion.

In February 2025, U.S. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers dismissed Elon Musk’s lawsuit seeking a ban on OpenAI’s commercialization.
