Similar to ChatGPT by OpenAI, Copilot can answer questions, help draft emails, summarize documents, and perform other routine tasks. It also features an image generator powered by DALL-E 3.
Initially, Copilot was available in Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers, later expanding to Android, iOS, and iPadOS. It is also integrated into Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
To use Copilot, a Mac with an M-series chip and macOS 14.0 or later is required.
The macOS version supports dark mode and quick launch via the Command + Space shortcut.
A few days before the release, Microsoft made the Voice and Think Deeper features free for all users. The former enables voice interaction, while the latter focuses on deeper reasoning.
In February, Microsoft announced its first quantum computing chip, Majorana 1, claiming to have “created an entirely new state of matter” — topological.
Earlier, the company also enabled Copilot to understand contextual information from the computer screen while browsing the web.
