In January 2025, addresses linked to Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen transferred over $109 million in XRP to centralized platforms, according to on-chain investigator ZachXBT.

On March 2, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned XRP, SOL, and ADA as assets worth adding to the national crypto reserve.

According to the analyst, Larsen still holds over 2.7 billion XRP, valued at around $7.18 billion. Several of these addresses had remained inactive for six to seven years.

Jeff Park, Head of Alpha Strategies at Bitwise, warned that adding altcoins to the reserve could raise concerns about insider trading. Meanwhile, The Moon Show founder Carl Moon and other experts have identified potential indicators supporting this theory.

Bob co-founder Dom Hartz noted that past scandals involving LIBRA, TRUMP, MELANIA, BARRON, and HAWK have damaged Solana’s reputation. Once envisioned as an “Ethereum killer”, the network is increasingly associated with fraud, scams, insider trading, and pump schemes.

In January 2024, ZachXBT reported that Larsen had lost $112 million in a hack.
