FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has been moved to a federal transit center in Oklahoma City.

According to WSJ, his transfer began on March 26 following an unauthorized video interview with Tucker Carlson from a Brooklyn prison.

During the conversation, SBF stated that he believes his sentence is unjust. He claimed that if not for the collapse, FTX could have had “$100 billion in assets against $15 billion in liabilities.”

The interview likely influenced the decision to transfer him. It was aired as part of efforts by Bankman-Fried’s family to seek a reduced sentence.

SBF’s relocation is linked to finalizing his designated prison facility. He is currently in a transit prison, which serves as a temporary stop before inmates are sent to permanent correctional institutions.

The former FTX CEO is expected to be placed in a main prison, likely in California, near his parents’ home. His release date is set for November 17, 2044.

On February 20, Bankman-Fried reiterated that at the time of FTX’s collapse, the exchange was solvent but illiquid. He also appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump for a pardon.
