Police in Quebec, Canada, have confirmed that a body discovered on October 30 in a Montreal nature park belongs to cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi, according to local media reports.
“The 25-year-old blogger and three of his neighbors were abducted on June 21 from a luxury condominium on De la Commune Street,” sources reveal. While Mirshahi’s neighbors were found 24 hours later in the western part of the city, the search for the blogger lasted much longer.
Investigation and New Details
According to the investigation, testimony from the rescued victims led authorities to determine that the crime occurred in the basement of a house where a burned-out SUV, allegedly used to transport the victims, was also discovered.
Although Mirshahi’s body was found on October 30, his identity was not disclosed until nearly two weeks later. A 32-year-old woman, Joanie Lepage, was arrested in late summer and charged in connection with the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
Kevin Mirshahi and His Activities
Mirshahi was known as the administrator of a private Telegram group called “Crypto Paradise Island.” In 2021, he was implicated in an investigation by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for offering unregistered investment contracts. In 2024, a court banned him from acting as a broker or investment advisor.
