
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has purchased 8888 BTC for $734 million, continuing its strategy of regularly replenishing reserves at the end of each quarter. This acquisition increased the company’s total bitcoin holdings to 92,646 BTC, valued at $7.8 billion.
With this move, Tether has become the sixth-largest holder of Bitcoin in a single wallet, according to BitInfoCharts.
Tether first disclosed its crypto reserves in May 2023, stating its intention to regularly invest up to 15% of profits in Bitcoin.

Additionally, on April 1, Metaplanet, utilizing the “Japanese Strategy,” acquired 696 BTC for $67.9 million at an average price of $97,512. The total value of the company’s assets reached 4046 BTC, and Metaplanet plans to accumulate 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025.
On March 24, the crypto reserve of Strategy surpassed 500,000 BTC after purchasing 6911 BTC for $584.1 million.
