The Georgia House of Representatives has introduced a resolution calling for increased awareness of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Web3 among children from kindergarten through 12th grade (K–12).

Initiated by Democratic lawmakers, the resolution urges the Department of Education to launch an educational campaign targeting both preschoolers and school-age children.

According to the document:

  • Technological literacy is described as a “critical skill for people of all ages.”
  • Blockchain is called “the future of online interactions.”
  • Cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, are said to be widely adopted and becoming alternatives to traditional currencies.
  • The internet of the future (Web3) is expected to offer greater transparency and security, while NFTs are already reshaping digital art.

“Educating children about the potential of these technologies and encouraging their use from an early age will help them utilize these tools more effectively in the future,” the resolution states.

Reminder: In March, California lawmakers amended a money transmission bill to include protections for cryptocurrency holders.
