The ability to trade BRC-20 inscriptions was discontinued following an update to the Binance Web3 Wallet, which has been rebranded as Binance Wallet.
According to the company’s announcement, the update aimed to simplify the interface and improve the user experience. However, there was no direct mention of the removal of the Binance Inscriptions marketplace from the wallet. Confirmation of the change came through customer support when a user on X inquired about the missing feature.
“The Inscription market has been removed. At this time, you cannot buy or sell Inscription assets,” the support team responded.
Users can still view and transfer assets through the Inscription Center menu.
Binance initially launched the marketplace for trading inscriptions on February 1, 2024, as an integrated feature of its Web3 wallet. The solution was built using the UniSat platform’s API, specifically designed for assets under the Ordinals protocol.
As a reminder, on December 5, Binance announced support for Bitcoin staking through the Babylon protocol.
