Ahead of International Women’s Day, crypto exchange Bitget summarized the first year of its Blockchain4Her (B4H) program, which promotes gender equality and increases female participation in the blockchain industry. As part of this initiative, the exchange introduced the B4H brooch, according to a press release.
The brooch’s design is inspired by Mărțișor, a traditional spring festival in Moldova and Romania.

The first event where Bitget presented these brooches to initiative participants was Crypto Expo in Romania. Moving forward, they will be distributed at all B4H events and to recipients of the Blockchain4Her Awards.
“A red and white thread attached to a small symbol represents the arrival of spring, hope, renewal, and new beginnings. This aligns with Blockchain4Her’s mission and the spirit of International Women’s Day. The initiative will continue to inspire, support, and empower women in the blockchain industry,” the press release states.
At the event, Bitget announced the launch of the Blockchain4Her mentorship program, helping women interested in Web3 connect with experienced mentors. These mentors will include B4H ambassadors and Blockchain4Her Awards winners.
“This brooch is more than just a symbol. It reflects the mindset we aim to spread, inspiring people to recognize the importance of gender equality. Visibility creates strength: when our efforts become noticeable, their impact multiplies. The emblem represents change, progress, and inclusivity, reinforcing Bitget’s commitment to building a truly diverse Web3 ecosystem,” said Bitget CEO Gracy Chen.
Launched in January 2024, the Blockchain4Her initiative has:
- Allocated $50,000 to support women-led startups
- Honored nine outstanding women with the Blockchain4Her Awards
- Organized over 10 international events, attended by 1,000+ women
Last year, Gracy Chen spoke at a UN Commission on the Status of Women session, sharing insights on gender equality in Web3.
On March 8, 2024, Bitget launched the Blockchain4Her Ambassador Program, bringing together leading women in the crypto community. Participants included Tess Hau (founder of Tess Ventures), Cecilia Hsueh (CEO of Morph), and Evgenia Broshevan (co-founder of Hacken).
In September, Bitget participated in the SheFi Summit in Singapore, which gathered hundreds of attendees from around the world. The event hosted the first Blockchain4Her Awards ceremony, recognizing five outstanding women for their contributions to the blockchain industry.
Bitget also focused on Southeast Asia, organizing the Southeast Asia Blockchain4Her Awards. The winners were Jenny Nguyen, Bea Llana, Theresa Tiandrauinata, and Cheryl Lo, while Tasha Punyaneramitdee received the Innovative Web3 Female Entrepreneur Award – SEA Edition.
Additionally, in 2024, Bitget launched Pitch n Slay, an initiative to fund and support women entrepreneurs. The final stage took place in November 2024 in Bangkok, where female-led startups competed for $100,000 from Foresight Ventures. The winners were:
- 3rd place – Anna Beh, founder of Art3mis
- 2nd place – Doris Hernandez, co-founder of Functor Network
