LINE NEXT, the Web3 subsidiary of messaging platform Line, has introduced an in-app platform for decentralized applications (dapps). The move is reported by The Block.

The first batch of dapps features:

  • Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-: a game inspired by a popular Japanese manga series,
  • Superz: a fitness application,
  • various social networks and other Web3 content supporting the trading of digital assets.

All services operate on Kaia, an L1 blockchain developed by LINE NEXT in partnership with South Korean messenger Kakao.

By the end of 2025, the platform aims to host more than 1,000 blockchain-powered applications.

Line is a leading messenger in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, with around 200 million users as of 2024. Developers hope the new Web3 platform will further boost adoption in Asia.
