Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has acquired a 30% stake in the Italian media group Be Water, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
According to an insider, the deal is valued at approximately €10 million ($10.8 million).
Be Water owns the podcast studio Chora Media, the Will Media platform, and engages in film production and distribution through Be Water Film.
Chora Media collaborates with Bloomberg News on the podcast series “Quello che i soldi non dicono”.
The acquisition is part of Tether’s new investment strategy, as the company diversifies its portfolio across various industries, including agriculture, artificial intelligence, and neuro-implants.
At the end of 2024, Tether recorded a record net profit of $13 billion.
Last month, Tether also acquired a minority stake in the Italian football club Juventus.
